Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs

I'm not sure why...but I really love hot dogs. The whole sha-bang, not just the hot dog itself, but having the hot dog between a bun with all sorts of topping, nom! However, hot dogs aren't exactly diet friendly, or healthy. We can make a few minor changes to change that, or at least make it semi-better for you, while jazzing it up.

Ingredients:
Fat free hot dogs, no more than 40 calories (Oscar Meyer makes great ones)
Light hot dog bun, or whole wheat (I used whole wheat)
Turkey bacon (about 25 calories)
Toothpicks (broken in half)
Onion
Red bell pepper
(Condiments such as ketchup, light mayo, or mustard  if you choose.)

Directions:

Heat a large skillet over medium high heat, spray pan with cooking spray. Slice your onions and peppers and saute until softened.

While cooking your onions and pepper prepare your dogs, break a toothpick in half and use one piece to hold the bacon in place and then wrap the bacon around the dog and insert the other end of the toothpick through the bacon and dog on the other side.

When your peppers and onions are done, cook your hot dogs in the pan until the bacon is crisp.

Place weenie in bun, top with everything and chow down.
